The Vision for DWC
Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central is undergoing a massive transformation to become the world's largest airport. The expansion plans include a new passenger terminal capable of handling 260 million passengers annually upon full completion.
New Terminal Facilities
The upcoming passenger terminal will feature cutting-edge technology including biometric processing, automated baggage handling, and AI-powered passenger flow management. The design incorporates sustainable features like solar panels and water recycling systems.
Enhanced Connectivity
Plans include a dedicated metro line connecting DWC to the Dubai Metro network, high-speed rail links to Abu Dhabi and other emirates, and expanded road infrastructure. The Etihad Rail network will also serve the airport complex.
Commercial and Cargo Expansion
DWC's cargo facilities are expanding to become the region's premier logistics hub. New free zone developments will attract businesses with streamlined customs procedures and modern warehousing facilities adjacent to the airport.
